I have been thinking about documenting my journey through the Army for some time now. Its taken me 2 1/2 years to get around to it. My goal here is to allow individuals who are interested in a career in the Army Dental Corps to gather knowledge about the job/life/commitment so they can make an informed decision about joining.
There are a lot of great things about a career as a dentist in the Army, but with the good comes the bad. A lot of people come in blind to the realities of what that commitment to the Army actually means. Our recruiters have done a great job in the last few years of selling HPSP scholarships. But like good recruiters do, they highlight the positive and skip over the negative.
Im here to talk about both.
Hi,
It’s 2016 and I hope you are happy with whatever you wanted in civilian life. I somehow stumbled into this page and found it surprisingly similar with my case. I am active duty army and in medical field as enlisted. I’ve always wanted to be a dentist I don’t know why. LoL I did hear about the HPSP but know nothing about it. I know I can find some information on goarmy website, but would like to hear it from who had experience with it. Would you mind share some of the details and experience on the scholarship part? Thank you so much and look forward to hear from you!!
